I accidentally deleted the movie I made but here is the original movie that we had to edit. SHELLY!

Today we were thinking about how we could use videos in the classroom setting. I love the idea of the videos but I personally don’t see myself incorporating a lot of technology into my practise. It is also very age dependant too. For example, it would be fun for middle school students to engage in I Movie for a project for class.

Today in class I made an I Movie:

Introduction to Video Editing with iMovie

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to do the following by the end of this orientation:

  1. Create a New Project in iMovie.
  2. Import video into iMovie from an SD card.
  3. Trim & Split video clips.
  4. Insert transitions between clips.
  5. Create Title and Credits.
  6. Mute or adjust the audio volume in video clips.
  7. Video Export and publishing options.

Advanced learning outcomes for participants who want to do more:

  1. Import audio.
  2. Make a slow-motion video clip.
  3. Crop a video clip.
  4. How to use a green screen video.

I have made an I Movie once before in high school but I have avoided it at other times just because I am not confident in my technology skills. I liked doing this video because I learnt something new and there were detailed steps on how to do it. This class was also very engaging rather than just the lecture talking class. Although I did mess a few things up (example the title showed up half way through the video), I know where I went wrong so would be able to do it right if I were to do it again. Myself AND many others were laughing a lot in class:) VIDEO HAS A LOT TO OFFER FOR EDUCATION!!!
